A great selection of contenders but only one can win the Arts Awards per category.
We have an interesting selection of nominees , so let’s break it down.

Best Creative Enterprise

  1. Stargate Studios

Stargate Studios is an international post-production studio with over 150 artists, supervisors and producers. The studio has taken care of creating visual effects for shows like Medici- Masters of Florence, American Gods, El Principe and more.

  1. Anvil Game Studios

Anvil Game Studios is a company which develops games based in Malta. They have set out to develop a game entitled Holdfast Nations at War. The game was released on 21st September 2017. The platform is PC.

Best Production

  1. Ernest and the Pale Moon

Ernest and the Pale Moon is a gothic-style horror play directed by Denise Mulholland which draws its inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe and Alfred Hitchcock. The performance was produced by The Shrinking Violets a new theatre collective led by Maria Buckle, Jo Caruana and Chiara Hyzler

  1. Valletta 2018 Opening Ceremony

A European celebration of the opening of Valletta 2018 in the Capital City of Valletta

  1. Hush

Teatru Manoel Youth Theatre (TMYT) performed an original musical written and directed by Denise Mulholland, with music and lyrics by Luke Saydon. The musical Hush focused on a peculiar boy called Gus Nightingale and his stoic struggle to find his voice in a world coloured by silence.

  1. A Hero’s Life

The Malta Philarmonic Orchestra are known to being Malta’s leading music ensemble. Recent past productions include Disney in Concert: Beauty and the Beast (16th February) and Birds in Music (23rd February).

The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller about the Salem Witch Hunt trials. The production was directed by Sean Buhagiar and performed at the Manoel Theatre.
